Can't actually work out the picture but more than likely, yea ;)

Someone was actually emailing a friend of mine wanting him to pay via...you guessed it, Western Union. He has actually created his own "official" ebay email replies, very professional indeed. Can't remember the username at the moment but he lived in London, then aberdeem, the the usa, then...it goes on, changed every hour! Things like that which put me off using ebay.

Re: Another Ebay spoof?

Yep, a scam. If you've not sold anything, then you've got nothing to worry about. Let them contact ebay and the police if they want... as if they're really gonna do that ;)

Check out the reply email address and see who the domain is registered too, tenner on a bet it aint an official ebay address.

Re: Another Ebay spoof?

Yeah, any chance of showing us the email's headers, rather than just what Outlook shows by default? You can hide your email address, so you don't get spammed.

I'm utterly, utterly sick of ebay..you use them once and you get overwhelmed with flyers, spam, spoofs, fraudulent email scams.Rollocks to them..

Is there anyway to leave them entirely and get your profile removed completely?

Whoever sent it needs a metaphorical kick up the backside for the unnecessary aggravation it has caused you. Not to mention the appalling grammar and spelling! ;)

Re: Another Ebay spoof?

Ebay sent this message to you. Your name has been used... erm, where?

If you look at Strzelecki's screenshot you'll see a proper one... BTW, you can still read that mosaiced-out bit!

Definite fake. Imagine if they sent out one to someone who never uses eBay (like me) now that would be funny.

Just ignore it.

I have no problem with ebay and paypal myself, like a lot of things on the net fraud exist's and you just have to be prudent, the same is happening with bank's as well just to a lesser extenct.

Re: Another Ebay spoof?

why doesn't someone highlight where you know to look so that other members might see this easier, to let them know if it is a fake.

I see it is in coggy's image "this message was sent to you" not "this message was sent to coggy coggy@coggy.cog" and at the bottom: "this ebay notice was sent to you on behalf..." not "this ebay notice was sent to coggy@coggy.cog on behalf..."

these are the two I found wrong with the 2 images, so the ones that can tell the difference better, please show all the wrong things in the image, what we should look for.
