NTL - 'Magic Eye' equivalent ?
 

Morning.

We are with Sky this morning and should be with NTL by the end of the day (hopefully). We currently have a Sky Magic Eye, does anybody know if NTL do anything similar ?

These devices area available, not from ntl though. It depends on the type of STB that ntl provide as tehre area two different remote signalling systems in use. The standardish RC5 or IR system, used by the Samsung STBs, or the non standard IrDA used by most of the PACE STBs.

Your Sky stuff may well work with the Samsung box, if that is what ntl give you. Alternatively DigiEye, is what you will want http://www.digisender.net/_Europes_N...r_Company.html

Most Pace boxes will accept RC5. It's only the 1000 and 2000 that won't. (But if you are given a 4000, it won't be supplied with an RC5 remote, so you'll have to find one elsewhere)

PACE bxes might accept RC5, but, the remote controller supplied by ntl will be using IrDA. RC5 based remote control extender devices won't transmit the IrDA based signals.

Sorry to disagree Rob, but ntl will only issue an IrDA (black) remote with a 1000, 2000 or 4000. You'll get an RC5 (blue) remote with a Pace 4001 or 4010, or with a Samsung.

NTL dont offer a offical "NTL branded" magic eye system for there TV service. However you can still put a cable from the RF output on the back of the NTL set top box to the second TV, then use the following equipment to change channel from the other room:
