Use of 2 NTL Modems

Am looking at connecting 2 computers via a wired network, then remembered I have a "spare" NTL modem ( not taken away by engineer when new broadband connection installed) and was wondering if a cable splitter or similar could be used on the incoming line to provide a connection to the second computer via it's own (the spare) modem?

You would need a second subscription to use the 2nd modem.

Just connecting it to the Ntl network would not give it a connection.

You're better off spending the money on a router.

No, you will need to buy a wired router, like a BEFSR41 and connect that to your CM and then wire that to your PCs
