Wireless Connection
I've recently bought a lynksys WRT54G broadband router and it works fine hardwired to my desktop using blueyonder bb. The problem i have is with my wife's sony viao laptop. The laptop immediately connects to the router using WAP protocol but it will not let me access the net or e-mail. My wife is a teacher and the laptop belongs to her school where she connects to the server wirelessly. Could the problem be with the way the laptob has been setup?

Re: Wireless Connection
I'm sure NEONKNIGHT will be here soon to advise, he's got one of these himself, and I'm buying one on his recommendation.

Can the router see the laptop? |
Re: Wireless Connection
yeah no problem. it connects no problem at all, I think there is something set on the laptop which is not allowing a connection to the net.

Re: Wireless Connection
Does the laptop tell you that its connected? Or say that there is a limited connection?
Have you assigned a key and put it in on the laptop? I had a simliar sort of problem, and I went to: Control panel>network connections>!rightclick! wirelessconnections>properties>wireless networks tab Then removed all of the items in the preferred network list, and selected ok. I was able to connect after doing this twice, and I've had no problems since. Excellent router, never dropped out yet. |
