Ntl You Out Done Yourself This Time

Well I was watching tv today when wait for it all my channels go off!

I call the faults team and what a bunch of usless muppets!

turns out my box and smart card details have been changed????????

So somebody is watching tv that i am paing for!!!!

Do you think they can turn on my channels????? NO!

waiting for an email to be sent again and another 48 hours!!!!!!!

Until they update my account, the amazing thing is they say there is nobody there today to do it as their closed????? Hmmmm somebody is there after all they changed the details today as it's been working until miday!

Well I have had enough of this, I'm going to my solic tomorrow to see about getting out of this contract as they just breached it in my opinion!

They have failed to provide me with a service and not because of a fault but because an NTL staff member has pulled the plug on my box! This breaches their contract to provide me with the services I have requested!

Yes, NTL are unbelieveable. I asked to trail some premium channels so of course NTL were all to eager to turn them on and bill me. Of course I get my bill and i've paid for part of the month. so I call at the end of the bill period and ask for it to be taken off as I don't want it. Guess what, yep you can not take it off until a month has gone by.

Damn daylight robbery. So they clearly have the capability to bill you for part of a month, but are unwilling to let you trial anything for less than a month. Ripped off. Gits.

And to top it off, I have to call them on 2nd Nov to tell them to turn it off. They won't add it as a pending action on the account. Swine.

I suppose it's a case of 'Computer says "No"', but they could write decent software to let them do it.

Errm, How are NTL ripping you off? You paid for 30 days access (it does say this on the website) to a TV channel, and have 30 days access.

The requirement probably has more to do with their arrangements with the various providers than any design faults in their software. You'll probably find they are charged for extra viewers, and have to make this money somewhere.

If you want me to look in to this for you then PM me your full name, address and account number and I'll ensure this gets passed on to the PA of one the directors of ntl tomorrow.

Hi Russ,

Thank you for your offer however at the moment some woman in NTL is trying to help me.

Don't know if she is doing it right as she has removed my tv service from my account altoughether!

She is trying to get sales to re add my box as a new tv service install or something!

She said this way there should be no problem......

I will PM you my details in a bit if things go T**s up.

UPDATE:
PM'd my details to russ, will let him know by the end of the day whether or not to proceed.

If that's the case then the people on the phones should be told to give the punters a better explanation other than "Computer says, No". Otherwise it just seems a bit of a cheat to charge 1 month minimum, when clearly the billing system already charges for part months.

Can you give me a reason why it has to be whole month ? (without using the words "probably", "possibly", "most likely" etc.

This is a load of crap I have turned on the movies and sports and I have turned them off after just two weeks!

I have done this twice in the last 4 months!

And NTL did turn them off, I was charged for the time they were connected only!

Anyone in NTL want to comment on this ?

Do you still have the bills to prove it ?
If true, I've been fed a pack of lies.

I'm not wanting to call anyone a liar, but when you subscribe to a pack/tier etc, it is for a minimum of 30 days.

The ntl policy was always that channel packages could be changed once a month. Nobody is saying you haven't been able to do it more frequently, just count yourself lucky :D

I don't count myself lucky at all, I asked prior to switching them on and I was told both times there is no min term with them.

As with my bills I will take a look now and respond.
