VOD Content - One week shows are available, the next they're not...
 

I'm curious about the content on the VOD service. I believe the selection of shows and the time they are made available is decided by the BBC, however it currently appears to be quite unreliable.

For instance, this Saturday I decided not to set the recorder for Bodies on BBC2 as every episode of the current series has been available on VOD later the same night. However when I went to watch it Sunday it was not listed, and it still isn't.

I hope this is a situation that isn't going to happen to various shows on a regular basis. It really defeats the point of using VOD if we still have to record a show to make sure we actually get to see it.

It does happen from time to time -- but it is a trial service so bear with it!

It is NOT a trial service at all.

It is an advertised product.

And the inconsistency in what's available makes ntl look unprofessional and incompetant.

It is a trial service per all the leaflets they sent me.

Missed yesterday's Eastenders? ntl have created a trial service called Pick of the Week which allows you to watch some of your favourite BBC programmes whenever you choose - up to a whole week after it was shown! Pick of the Week programmes are completely free, so you can watch your favourite show whenever you want.

I can't speak for your leaflets, but the one that arrived last week does not say TRIAL anywhere in the brochure or letter or T&Cs or FAQs.

It is also listed as a selling point of each of the TV packages, which (by the nature of the word trial) would not be appropriate. http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/television

And the On-Demand page of the ntl woebsite also mysteriously avoids using the word TRIAL..as per http://www.home.ntl.com/page/ondemand

Note the use of the words "brand new" and "service". By definition I trial is not brand new, as it is not strictly available officially.

Also the entire residential T&Cs do not mention the word TRIAL http://www.home.ntl.com/page/termsresidential

So, wherever you have got your information from, it is not up to date or accurate - and the VOD service is not a trial.

I clearly stated my source and that it relates to the BBC Pick of the week being a trial NOT the whole VOD system.

The latest leaflet i received relates to the October promotion (50p movies etc on Filmflex, extra free offerings on TV Hits) and states that BBC Pick of the week is a TRIAL service.
