Any free proggies out there that will make my webcam start recording if
there is any movement?

coffeecup used to have something for webcam software which was when I used it pretty good and afaik free :)

i think i recall a free product called homewatcher...
It took pictures then calculated if anything had changed then uploaded to a website for you to view

I'd been looking for a prog to turn my webcam into a surveillance cam as well....Couldnt find any free ones and i was too miserable to pay for one.....yet :D

Thanx for this....i tried it but it was more like the Cam Wizard prog i was looking for, (sry original poster to hi-jack your thread :p: ). I wanted something that actually recorded onto a video file just like a cctv camera.;)

try webcamfirst - it emails pictures on movement detection.

Mines a cheapo i picked up at Aldi, i can set it to record any movement in it's field of view, think most newish webcams have this option.

So is mine, it came with motion detection software which I found easy to set up and use...
