Can you not use Crossover Office and still run Dreamweaver/Flash?

There's an editor called Bluefish which is supposed to be a fairly decent alternative to Dreamweaver. I've not tried it so can't speak for it.

Pfft. That's still too fancy. I use pico. Seriously. I also use notepad on PC. Both have line numbers, search and replace, everything I need really, and its dead quick.

Not on the public interweb (at least, not any I'm actually proud of :) ). Internal stuff at t'ntl only, I'm afraid.

Bah. I only use vi when I haven't got physical access to the machine to blow 1s and 0s down onto the hard disk platters. With a straw. Seriously.

Genuinely seriously, because I often have to edit sites remotely, graphical web editing is a serious no-no, so I have to use whatever's there, and vi is the common denominator across our unix and linux systems. That's the key difference with Linux against Windows, really, you use them in different ways, so there isn't really a direct correlation in applications.

vim actually wees me off a bit because it does helpful things like comment and tab indent lines automatically, which is a pain when pasting (as soon as it hits the first comment in the pasted text it subsequently comments every other line. You can turn it off, of course, but it's a bit 'Microsoft' for my liking, which is what I'm trying to get away from.

I use notepad also. Simply for speed.

If its all getting too much I simply print it out and get out the markers pens to work out where I have gone wrong.:erm:
