Mystery charge on phone bill
Hi everyone
I opned up my one of my NTL bills this morning (one was for BB, the other for phone). To my surprise, I found that I was being charged £4.08 since 21 Sept for "Call Barring", a service I have never ordered and used (and further, don't actually know what it is!) I called CS, got through to someone in Swansea who said that I ordered the service on install (3-4 years ago now I think...!) but have never been charged for it. I told her that I have not used the NTL phone at all - that's what my mobile's for - why would I use this service. LONG pause then she said that she would remove the amount. Normally I would be happy with this but I have had some hassle with NTL before (not with BB though it must be said, whose CS has been exceptionally good). I also want to contact someone to find out why and how in the names of all things holy this charge "appeared" on my bill!? So, any advice from experienced members of the board as to what I can now do to make sure that this is off (asides from waiting for the next bill)? Thanks rajbali |
Re: Mystery charge on phone bill
With the billing systems being combined etc lately it could be that the charge was put onto the bill because the system thought that you had asked for it when you ordered the line. If the agent taking the order messed up the original order it might have taken this long for things to come to light.
If you use the responsetek form at the top of the NTL section of the forum you can give your response to the NTL service so far and if you PM a forum team member with the relevant details they can push it through to NTL for you. |
Re: Mystery charge on phone bill
I've just had the same problem, received my Cable bill 3 days ago and today received a bill for the phone, which I only use for incoming calls from work, with call waiting enabled and chargeable. On ringing them they also claimed it had been on for years but never charged followed by a note on it that if I rang up and queried it it was to be taken off and I was to be refunded. To me with reading this and my experience some thing seems a bit fishy and how many people are now going to pay for something not requested.
