broadband email switch. Why?
Hello.
Still pursuing details of my pending switch from dialup to broadband with ntl. Asking around, several other people (not with ntl) say they've switched to broadband and kept their existing email address, which sounds logical. So have I got it wrong that when I change my ntl dialup to ntl broadband, I HAVE to have new email addresses, too? Obviously, I'd much rather keep my existing email addresses than have to tell all my friends (must be at least 14) of my new details. Ta. Allen, London. |
Re: broadband email switch. Why?
When you register your broadband you're asked if you have an existing dialup account.
If you say yes, the email addresses are imported and the dialup account closed. If you said no, not only do you get new addresses, but your old dialup account won't close, meaning you could still be paying for it if it's an unmetered one. Tech support have the facility to import your old addresses from your dialup account to your broadband one, so you shouldn't lose them, but afterwards make sure someone closes your dialup account. |

Scrot: perfect answer. Thank you very much.
(And what's this nonsense about cowards? Something ironic and post-modern, or am I just too old to get it?) Allen, London. |
