SNMP capable modem
 
i am after a wireless router that supports SNMP.
a friend lent me their linksys wrt54g but this is version 4 so the wifi box firmware doesnt work
the ntl modem i have doesnt suppor it either - all though my previous one did

any help much appreciated

As far as i am aware snmp is not supported on any of the modems supplied by NTL. So you will definatly need to use it via your router. some of the linksys routers support snmp.

I have the none wireless linksys befsr81 ver 3 and that allows snmp monitoring.
