WIFI problem
Hes my problem & Kit (4-Port router, Wireless Access Point & PCcard all Belkin 802.11g)
I came home after being out, turned on my laptop and tryed to get online to check my email, but I couldn't connect to my WiFi upstairs, so I went to check it/reset to find that my dad had turned it off. I turned it back on, and went back to my laptop at restarted it and it still wouldn't connect. So I took my laptop upstairs closer to the WiFi unit and it connected straight away, I took it back downstars and it would no longer connect. I can only think its ariel related. (I'm out of work and cannot afford to fork out on new kit) Any ideas |
Re: WIFI problem
can you connect to the router via a cable? check the wireless setting and maybe disable the encryption to test...
or does your computer shows network available or it just say 'no network available'? |
Re: WIFI problem
The signal's nuked. Check there's no metal nearby, in the direct path and not too many walls, water tanks, cordless phones and microwaves.
Also change the channel, +/-5 from present is what is reconmmended. |

I disabled encyption and upstairs no real difference (11MB poor signal strength) came downstairs and got 54MB very good signal strength. __________________ Should I do a reset to factory setup on the Wireless Access Point and set a new encryption setting |
Re: WIFI problem
