CAPS United owner Twine Phiri told the newspaper: "It's true that some of our players, for reasons that I don't know right now, decided to stay behind in England despite giving us assurances that they would join the rest of the team at Heathrow on the way back home.
Yeah! Right! :)

One of todays papers ran this story... it seems the match (es) were not sanctioned by the FA ( which they have to be to validate the visas ) and the referees were not FA referees.

How competent of the immigration services....

I had it on good authority from a Zimbabwean woman, that a UK passport is only £150 and an National Insurance number is a similar cost.

These illegal/official passports usually come from employees in the passport office. She said there is no way to tell unless they follow up on the records of issue.

This means its fairly cheap for a foreigner to appear as a legal UK citizen, after they have gained entry.

True, but there is a big difference in Zim between the rich and the poor. The rich are not rich by our standards but they have enough to afford a fake passport.

Although in this case theres a fairy high profile, making it difficult for them to dissapear into the system like thousands of other Zimbabweans have done in this country.
