when or if it ever dies NTL might swap it for the latest ones but only if they had no old ones left in stock.
The new ones are mainly for new customers and it would cost NTL too much money to swap all SACMs for the new SACM/wireless router...

Whats the matter with your modem? NTL supply a service up to the USB or Ethernet port of the modem. After that, its out of your control.
