Network Internet Access Logging

Hi

Anyone know of a free piece of software which I can install on a Windows 2000 server to monitor/log web usage for network users? I have scouted Sourceforge and come across a couple of Linux possibilites but struggling for MS O/S's. Blocking of websites a bonus!! Any recommendations?

I have some logging via our router but it is very limited and would like to expand on that.

If you don't know any freebies what pay software do you use?

Thanks,

J

It's going to be difficult if you're not routing all internet traffic via a proxy server.

The only option if a proxy is not available, is to have some kind of packet monitor, which is unlikely to be free and contain the logging features you require.

What router do you have with the linksys ones you can put different software onto the router that IIR has enhanced logging abilities.

The Linksys are basically stripped linux machines.

EDIT - I've never tried this.
