Transfering files from pc to laptop
I've been reading and reading but I'm still none the wiser about this.
I want to transfer some large files from my pc to my laptop The laptop is wireless ready but I dont have a wireless router as yet. The main pc is using ethernet broadband (cable) connection. What would be the simplest way of transfering these files? without using a load of cd's etc. and If I go and buy a wireless router to share the cable connection, will I be able to transfer the files over this? Thanks for any help |
Re: Transfering files from pc to laptop
Buying a wireless router will work, all you do is get the two computers on the same domain/ workgroup and run the file sharing wizzard to help sort settings out. Then create a share folder on each PC, you'll then be able to share files between to two.
Once you are networked together you often just have to drag and drop the files to the new positions. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;304040 http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...ilesharing.htm http://www.theeldergeek.com/quick_gu...le_sharing.htm |

Excellent, thanks to both of you.
I'll read up on the file transfer wizard and check out some routers :) |
