Home Network Issue

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this in.

I set up a home network about a year ago - had a few initial teething troubles but with some help from here got everything working as it should.

I have a PC downstairs and a laptop upstairs - laptop connects via a wireless card and PC connected originally via USB. Both computers were able to access the internet, both we're able to print to each others printers and files could be swapped in both directions.

Now comes the problem. The laptop can still do everything it used to - access the net, print to downstairs printer and access folders on other computer. The PC downstairs can still access the internet but cannot communicate with the laptop to print to its printer or access files on it.

The only thing that I know of that has changed is I now have a NIC card to connect the PC to the router rather than USB. All settings on sharing capabilities seem the same, I can ping between both computers in both directions.

Any help?

Firstly apologies again for the wrong forum.

I think I've solved it, my own Norton Firewall was fine, but I think the Windows Firewall was getting in the way.

Thanks
