Tv + Phone
 

Had a handbill from NTL today offering:-
"The Best Digital TV".
"A Great Value Phone Service".
"Award winning Broadband".
"Have any combination you fancy".
Does this mean I can have Digital TV or Broadband without the Phone service?
The small print dosen't say. No prices quoted either.

No you get the phone service regardless of whether you use it or not.

You don't need to have it installed but you pay the same price for the TV service regardless of whether you use it or not.

There was don't know if still is a offer of free telephone line rental for 12 months if you take the TV service.

We did this as we allready had a phone line we mainly use mobile for calls with our inclusive minutes. Bundled telephone line and TV rental was the reason we wouldn't take the TV service. Our twelve months are up in December if we then have to pay the telephone line rental it will be back to free view I'm afraid.

If the year offer is still on go for it ! We hoped that by the time the twelve months were up NTL would have unbundled sadly thats not happened. The crazy thing is the cost of a call out to collect our box will probably cost NTL more than they would collect in line rental for a phoneline we don't use. The line rental for us would be just money down the drain.

you can have the broadband without the telephone but not the tv :)

I'm in exactly the same boat as you - and will be ditching the phone service if they insist in charging for it. It sits there, never used and acts as an emergency fallback if BB goes down....
