Error 3 (ERR3)
Can anyone help me,please?.
In recent weeks my TV suffered continual freezing of the picture (but not sound !) Telewest installed a new box and all seemed well for a couple of days! Then a message kept appearing to the effect that "the smart card is missing or your smart card is damaged or your smartcard is damaged! This was obvious nonsense as it was a new box installed by them. They then decided that we were too far from the "cabinet" down the road , for the connecting cable to our home from the road and that the signal was too weak. So they removed the old cable from under the front lawn and left. The TV cable installation then appeared fine for two days. The the message "ERR3" appears on the panel on the front of the box and the whole set up is totally locked.I cannot switch it off with either the remote or the button on the box, no controls either on the box or the remote have any effect, the only option I have is to swith off the power at the wall socket. When i do this and wait about 60 seconds or more, it does not "Boot up" in the normal way (i.e.Going through the normal routine and showing "PACE" on the display with a succession of blinking lights, etc., but immediately goes into the "ERR3" mode and is completely locked. Has anyone ant suggestions, please? Many thanks, Threave.  |

Re: Error 3 (ERR3)
My new pace box did this, i am on ntl though. it probably wasnt a new box
it would probably have been a reconditioned one if they do the same as ntl. You will have to phone customer services up and tell them your error message, cant help you with the number though. it will be on your bill. |
