Upstream power levels varying - is this normal?

Can anybody answer this one?
My upstream power level varies between 38.0 & 47 dbmv, whereas my downstream varies between 0.0 & 1.6dbmv, is this normal or is there something wrong on the network?

That is normal. Have a look at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...ps/signal.html for more detailed information.
