Mobile PAC number

Has anyone had experience in keeping there mobile number using there PAC number?

I brought a new mobile at the weekend changing from orange to O2 they said it would take about a week and my old mobile 'just dies out' ?

Is this right? I need the same number and I hope the sales man was not blaging me.

You just keep using the old mobile on the original network. After a while (anything from a few days to a week), it will just stop connecting. Then try the new network and it should be working there. It really is seamless. I went from T-Mobile to Voda and it only took a few days.

No, once the new network have the PAC number they do everything. Your old network will send you a final bill. In my case, the advance line rental more than covered the calls made, so I got a couple of pounds refunded. It just depends on timing. Just to be safe I also cancelled the direct debit after my final bill too.
