Here's a good little question.

Right, just doing a full redecoration job, and nearly done. The thing is, I want a new TV.

An LCD one, between 23" and 27", with PC inputs and maybe HD ready (is it worth it)?

Where can I get one? I would prefer not to buy online, but if need be I will. And I'm in the leicester area.

What should I be looking out for? Anything special?

I've never had any problems with stuff from Richer Sounds and there is one in Leicester on London Road, just past the train station.

The selection in store can be a little hit or miss but they normally have a couple of models to choose from.

If you can afford it, I'd go for an HD-ready telly. I saw one in a high street retailer the other week, and was pretty amazed at the difference between normal sets and HD sets. Would like personally to buy an LG model I saw, but it's out of my price range :(

Never been to Leicester, so can't offer any suggestions as to where to buy from... plus I tend to buy stuff online.

If you're into gaming, consol wise, and maybe getting new XBox 360, then yes, go for HD version, sky and bbc are doing trials now on HD tv, so broadcast tv wont be long behind.

If I were you guys and was going to buy another LCD TV I would take the time to check out the forums here: www.avforums.com in particular the LCD forum. As NOT all LCD's are equal. It's a complicated subject, but there are alot of indepth user reviews of each LCD TV on the market. Some of which dispel the rumours of HD compliancy that some manufacturers make. Not to mention some of the problems of owning a LCD TV that aren't mentioned when you see a dvd playing in your local high street retailer.
