E-Mail problem

Hi Just registered.

Could someone please advise
I have given up trying to speak to NTL.

I use microsoft outlook for my e-mail, I have an address with freeserve.
I do not want to change to ntl address.

I can receive e-mails on my freeserve address, but if i try to send a mail it sticks in the outbox

Many thanks in advance

Regards

Brian

hi :welcome: to Cable Forum

NTL only allow mail to be sent via their own servers, change your outgoing mail server to smtp.ntlworld.com and you should be able to send. :)

Glad to help - and thanks for the feedback, as it confirms the 'fix' for anyone else searching the forum, with the same issue :tu:

Just to clarify: ntl let you send mail through any server you like, but Freeserve won't let you send through theirs if you are not on a Freeserve connection.

thanks for that - luckily the advice was right, even if the logic behind it was backwards ;)
