Cable modem rebooted...
Left the room and came back to see the cable modem rebooting?
Who and why would that happen! Should i be concerned about this reading - Downstream Receive Power Level : -7.71 dBmv the others are Downstream SNR : 29.46 dB & Upstream Transmit Power Level : 61.00 dBmv.( over the week it has been as low as 41ish, high is good right) Morning all. PS, (modem software seems to have changed, on status screen i no longer have a up stream button to click on?) |

Call tech support at your earliest convenience and inform them that your modem keeps losing its' connection. Mention if you like that you are seeing very high upstream transmit power. Power levels: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=26006 Your downstream power is a little low but nothing to worry about, downstream SNR is a bit low too, however it's all probably part of the same fault. You need an engineer though as your connection will be somewhat intermittent. |
Re: Cable modem rebooted...
Welcome to the forum :)
If the modem software has changed then it might be that the software upgraded and required a reboot to set in properly. Unless your connection starts to go wrong I wouldn't be too worried by it. |
Re: Cable modem rebooted...
Hi,
Ta, have been lurking for 5 months without a need to post but have learnt a lot from reading all your posts. Ok, did a power off of modem. Still have same ish reading, the DRPL has been as high as 8.16, so its look like a phone call. Might just see how it is over the next couple of hours. After all its a holiday. |
Re: Cable modem rebooted...
My modem booted last night and looks like new software.
Horrible NTL logo at top and new disclaimer at the bottom. Just so you can compare otquk me settings are: Downstream Receive Power Level : -7.14 dBmv Downstream SNR : 31.51 dB Upstream Transmit Power Level : 55.00 dBmv |
