NTL DNS Problems?
 

Anyone else having DNS Problems?

In Kirklees, nothing is resolving. Have changed DNS to Plusnet ones, and am able to browse ok again.

Cant see anything on the NTL Status page tho.

my freind who lives at the other end of my town cant resolve a page, however browsing over at this side works fine, my connection kept dropping yesterday though.

DNS still isnt working here, seems strange - are the DNS Servers area specific?

Using the auto assigned ones: 194.168.4.100 & 194.168.8.100 I cannot browse any websites, but manually entering a different DNS server all is well.

Nope, DNS is not specific to a particular area.

I'm not having any problems with name resolution here {yes i know i'm on a virgin.net connection but they use ntl's dns and proxies}

Lee and Kronas [and therefored i assume Kronas's friend]- you are both coming from the same range of proxies, and i believe problems with the proxies can show similar symptoms to DNS issues. Have you tried specifying an alternative proxy server?

I too had this problem today with a few sites, changing proxies fixes it, I had specific problems with http://www.palms.com not resolving on Poplar but it works fine on Baguley Proxy.
