US Midterm Elections 2026

Hi all,

anybody watching this?

i think house seems set for the dems to win back but i think the senate will be 50-50 and therefore republicans will keep it by having the vice president as the deciding vote.

what you all thinking?

Looks like a Democrat blowout. As of 3am UK time it looks certain the Dems will take both houses easily including taking Texas! Trump has completely collapsed the Republicans.

Hasn't he also said that with executive orders and veto the Democrats will have to come to him and work out how to work with him?
If they win enough, and it looks like they could, the Democrats could tell him to come and work with them if he wants a few things his way. And maybe if they have enough invite him to spend time in a concrete cuboid office.

Do you believe what he's said? I know little of US politics but executive orders don't carry the same weight as laws passed by Congress, in fact many of donnies executive orders are being struck down in court because they're patently illegal, he can't pass laws, get money from Congress without Democrats approval and I think the next two years will mainly be investigations into what's gone on in the last two with the lamest of lamest ducks serving time out until he is impeached, the Democrats better not blow this like they did last time around.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out, honestly which ever way this goes it's going to be bad for America and other countries because Trump will penalise the world for it because he will think that the world, has pushed the Americans to hate Republicans with "Fake news" etc.

How's he going to do that? I think he's going to have enough trouble keeping his fat ass out of jail without adding to his enemies list and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy

I didn't say I believed him, just what was reported that he believes. I think the sooner he receives that nice new jacket either in a fetching orange to match his face, or with fastenings at the back, the better.

A wounded and dangerous animal, with quite possibly no future, that also has his finger hovering over some important and deadly buttons :erm:

The Democrats might be able to work with him if they manage him correctly. Mandami in New York has managed to do so. Trump cares about Trump more than anyone or anything else, including his party or any one ideology. So if you can massage that ego then you might be able to get some stuff done.
