cancel contract 5 months in
My stepson is moving a new place and realised VM don't supply a connect to the address.
He signed up to a new contract 5 months ago. Will VM hold him to contract if he cancels or do they charge a partial leaving fee and if so what is this usually? |
Re: cancel contract 5 months in
Provide proof of new address and all will be well :tu:

If the new address isn't overseas and he provides VM with proof of him residing at the new address that they cant service then, then VM will refund the early termination fees. The accepted documents are :- Bank statement, mortgage information, rental agreement, driving licence, insurance pollicy, or utility bill. They can be emailed to homemovers@virginmedia.co.uk or send paper copies to Virgin Media Sunderland SR43 4AA. |

I personally would cancel the direct debit and not pay . I would not be waiting on a refund

It would stress me out worse having to wait for someone to give me my money back. And VM are a shower so would not give them the chance.

Re: cancel contract 5 months in
how is it the worst thing you can do ?
How I see it is me taking control of the situation and dealing with it on my terms and at my leisure not theirs. And as I said in this case it could be well above £500 no way no how would I let them take it. |

Re: cancel contract 5 months in
After reading the many tales of woe (here and other places), I think if I ever quit mid contract due to a house move I'd pay for a solicitor to send them letters regarding the circumstances and payments due.
Let them ignore a solicitor :D |
