Netgear AXE3000 A8000

This adapter is reverting back to 2.4GHz when set to preferred band 5GHz.

In adapter properties, advanced, preferred band... set accordingly but doesn't play ball.

Drivers are up-to-date

The usb adapter is meant to be top tier :( any ideas please?

Shocking. It only supports 20MHz width. I think predecessor Netgear AC1900 A7000 performed better!

How long you had it? if you bought from amazon return it and buy something else . This for a laptop?

You could set a 5G guest network up and connect the adapter to that. It will not have any choice then. I run multiple networks across 2 providers so any finnicky device can be served
