Question about Virgin Media isolators
 

Hello,
My question is about Virgin Media isolators, and apologies if this has been asked before...
I've just home-installed Virgin Media in my flat (Hub 5 with Volt Gig1 broadband, plus Stream Box), and I think the supplied coaxial cable to the hub has an inline isolator on it? I'm a complete newb at anything remotely techie!
I couldn't find a Virgin wall socket until I unscrewed a blanking plate and found an old looking Qamtex TV/Data Isolator, which the new push fit coaxial cable fits into nicely. There is also an old NTL phone socket, so this was clearly done a long while ago!
Broadband and TV are working well and speeds seem good - the router is currently downloading at 1122 Mbps.
Can I remove the Qamtex TV/Data Isolator box and simply join the two cables together? I would like to get rid of the nasty old pattress box that the previous owner cut into in an failed attempt to make things fit, and neaten the area up.
Would there be any benefit to doing this, and conversely would there be any potential issues?

No don't remove any of the bits. Ask VM for a faceplate if you want to clean the area up, or a VM tech in a van.
