Ntlworld to gmail

Not sure what to post this under. Used to use a ntlworld e mail. Still have but it is set to forward to a Gmail account. Don't know why I looked at it, but had a large number of emails I have never seen on Gmail . Most but not all are clearly spam . Does g mail spot and refuse them?

I assume you got it set to delete after forwarding? Gmail does not automatically block spam it just moves it

Spam is all my old NTL address gets now, forwarded to my new system.

Most of it isnt directly identified as spam so gets through but my system does catch some of it and puts it in the spam folder. Gmail may do something similar.

Spam into my NTL addresses has increased a fair bit over the past 2 months . .

. . just saying, not pointing fingers or anything . . honest

Yes I was answering your question Gmail does not block incoming spam from NTL email it moves it as normal to junk folder. Why you are seeing email in ntl you have never seen on Gmail I have no answer for. Why not set it to delete then you will see what email is not getting forwarded and see if you have a clue there

you asked this "Does g mail spot and refuse them?" the answer is no

In your forwarding settings select delete when forwarded so those that are sent to gmail are deleted from NTL/ Then you will see what are not getting forwarded to see if there are any clues to see why they are not forwarded .

I know up until recently at least you could import IMAP and POP directly to Gmail. I know they changed something recently with the inbuild version gmailfy or something . I do now forward and do set to delete

I am confused by all this still

Are you forwarding email from NTL to Gmail or importing NTL Email through Gmail ? forwarding you would have to set up in Virgins email client and Importing would be done through Gmail

You can set it up 2 ways . In Gmails web interface you hit settings Accounts and Import and set up to import and send mail if you want it to using pop or in the ntl web interface settings look for forwarding. If you decide to forward set it to delete after or you end up with a full box

Sending from ntiworld to. Gmail. And it presents as a option in the ntl world e mail page .ie were I look at at my email s. It is a single button as I recall requiring the address to send it to.At the moment I really don't want to risk going up three flights of stairs to check
