New Freesat box coming AND it’s a Recordable one

Freesat has discontinued its recordable boxes apparently. They were never well thought of, unlike the previous gen Humax DVRs/PVRs.

Manhattan however is about to launch a Recordable Freesat box and fill the gap in the market.

I’ve always liked their non-recordable Freesat boxes and regularly use their SX model in one room. Simple, intuitive interface. I’m hoping for similar with this new one, though I’m unfamiliar with their current UI designs. I’d imagine it’s probably going to work like their current Freeview PVR, just with a different type of tuner.

2T & 4 tuners is really good.

Do you know if it can record radio channels?

who needs to record nowadays with everything pretty much on demand. Whole series often online before they aired in real time. Seems a lot of money for something that is essentially out of date before it is even released. Free sat is just a brand name and the free to air sat channels you get on freesat you can pull on your dish anyway and sat tuners can be picked up cheap nowadays although the user may need some knowhow to set up an Enigma device but it really is easy

If you were happy not to record you can pick up a basic sat tuner for £26 on ebay

Far from everything is available on demand. And of course there the adverts you can't skip with streaming.

would say pretty much everything you are likely to record on a freesat box when installed from new today. Except of course all the selling channels but who would want to watch them on demand

I can even sit and watch my soaps before they air without ads

All on demand stuff seems to eventually go off demand.
Plus you need multiple subscriptions (usually more expensive if ad free).

You may not want (or need) to record, plenty of people do.

My issue with that "recorder" is its Freesat, so needs a dish.

Freesat is just a brand name

Free unencrypted channels broadcasts on Astra you need nothing from Freesat to view it

I would have thought so, the old Humax Freesat boxes could I think, a relative has one of those.
