Sending VM kit back
Has anyone had any success taking their equipment back to an O2 store after disconnection?
I'd already decided I didn't fancy risking the Yodel route even if VM do send the relevant returns pack through (which they haven't so far). I read around and found you could just take your equipment in to an O2 shop with your account number, name, address and equipment serial numbers and to make sure to get a receipt for proof. Being somewhat wary I rang my easiest to get to O2 shop. The woman I spoke to asked me if I had prearranged it with VM and that their system didn't recognise VM accounts so no point bringing it in unanounced. When I suggested this didn't match my information she "accidentally" hung up on me. |
Re: Sending VM kit back
Last time I had VM I got the local team to come collect it. While the guy was at my property I asked for him to check and confirm everything is in order, he insisted on doing the checks back at the office, I said no. Do it now please. Call VM and ask for collection. I didn't bother will yodel but I had a choice on the phone when cancelling, postal or pick up.

Re: Sending VM kit back
How did you get them to come and collect?
I've had nothing from them other than a countdown to disconnection on my account page. I had a feeling the option to take the kit to an O2 shop was too straightforward for VM. I've tried ringing a couple of other O2 stores and neither of them answer. Seems like VM and O2 are well suited to each other. |
Re: Sending VM kit back
Contact the CEOs office via email if you haven't any luck with contacting VM CS. One of their UK based representatives will get intouch and they from the experience I've had are really good.

I told them I suffer with my mental health and will send it back when I could she made a note and said as and when and it never went back. Couple of years now

As I recall, VM collected mine.

Re: Sending VM kit back
They came and collected a V6 box from my home when I downgraded to 1 V6 box.

Re: Sending VM kit back
I just had an email telling me they're sending me some Yodel returns packaging in "about 2 weeks". Seems like a good way to whittle down the returns deadline date.
They also asked for my ancient 500GB Tivo to be returned despite the website clearly stating V6 or 360 only needed to be returned. I contacted two O2 shops regarding handover, one said I needed a confirmation email from VM as their "system" wouldn't recognise the account number, the other said I could do it but had to package it up in its correct box, again contradicting info from VM. In short the process is, as I fully expected, a complete shambles and I'll be glad to see the back of them. The only decision now is whether to cancel the direct debit as I'm fully paid up and had my final bill. It would stop them trying a cheeky last gasp charge for supposedly unreturned equipment, the downside being their eagerness for debt collection agencies. |
Re: Sending VM kit back
A CEO rep would have all the power to amend the systems in place. I bet they send you an inadequate box to return all the bits they want. I'd fire off an email saving yourself the burden of their own fault.

Re: Sending VM kit back
I stated that, if they wanted it back, then they must collect it like they previously always used to. They sent an engineer to collect it and he was chuffed to find it was such an easy job to do.

Re: Sending VM kit back
Make sure you get and keep a tracking number. Seen lots of posts where kit (not just VM) is returned and never arrives. No tracking number was given or the customer has lost it.
I've had kit I've sent to provider (not VM) which they said I never returned. Tracking showed I posted it and they received it. They then updated there records. Quote:
