I DLed Mirc 3.5 and it works beautifully..... (3.5 is 100% free,no nagging,etc)

3.5 is the earliest one I found that will still connect.......

Its pretty small and is excellent!

irc.prison.net is still up and many people on it.....

Its amazing.. Most chat networks are gone now but IRC is still up!!

Anyone else ever use IRC?

I used IRC alot 20 odd years ago, then I got a life and stopped and have no intention to returning to that.

IRC Chat is like you are in prehistoric time. I stopped using it years and years ago. In fact i would not have a clue how to use it now.

Its still used on a few torrent sites I visit.

The only thing I dont like is how easy it is to get ppls info!
