TNT Sports and HBO Max

My contract comes to an end / discounts expire on 4 May 2026.

We are on the Mega Volt package so get TNT Sports and would like it to continue. It is shown as an add on and presumably therefore billed separately, but then not charged for it as the discounts reduce the bill down to the normal package price without TNT.

With todays announcement about HBO Max suppose to be too early to know if we will be able to retain TNT Sports going forward via the V6 box or if it will mean another sub and hopefully an app released for the Samsung TV ?

I would have asked on the VM Community forums but realise they are now locked as they are being moved to a new platform etc.

Any ideas ?

As I understand, HBO Max replaces Discovery+ as the "streaming home". TNT Sports remains as linear broadcast channels in positions 521-524 with the red-button feeds for TNT5-10

According to the WBD press release subscribing to TNT Sports on Virgin Media will be able access on HBO Max from 26th March , wasn't clear if the HBO Max app will be only be TV 360 & Stream and not V6 , as the press release just said Virgin TV.
Quote:

HBO Max will be available on all major devices including TVs, set-top boxes, streaming devices, mobiles, tablets, game consoles and platforms including Android, EE / BT TV, Fire TV, iOS, LG, PlayStation, Roku, Samsung, Virgin TV and Xbox.

From this time, fans who subscribe to TNT Sports via partners 2 in the UK will be able to access it on HBO Max.

2 EE/BT, Sky, Virgin Media, O2, Prime Video- please note customers accessing TNT Sports through Prime Video will do so via a standalone plan, not via HBO Max.

Not a good time for the community forum to go offline.

Can existing Virgin Media and Virgin TV customers watch Sky Atlantic?
Yes, existing Virgin Media customers with a TV package that includes Sky Entertainment channels will be able to watch Sky Atlantic from 1 April. You'll need a Virgin TV 360 box or a Stream box to watch Sky Atlantic. If you’ve still got a TiVo or V6 box, get in touch and we'll upgrade you at no extra cost so you can join the party.

Only if you upgrade (software) the V6 to 360 (at this time).

Why so much fuss about Sky Atlantic ?
There is little on it I would ever watch, and even those seem to be repeats of things seen long ago.

Totally agree. I suspect that Sky have only now let Virgin have it to shore up it's ratings/ad revenue as they know that a lot will no longer bother with it and will subscribe to HBO max instead.

Each to their own likes and dislikes but there is plenty on there that our household like.

There is a principle at stake here. Elsewhere in this forum there is much discussion about how VM is effectively blackmailing TiVo/V6 customers of many decades into changing/downgrading to 360 so they can watch Sky Atlantic. I agree - SA is not the draw it used to be. But many TiVo/V6 customers are (in my view) completely fed up with the way VM are treating them. Today Sky Atlantic, tomorrow - who knows? ITV1? U&GOLD? True Crime XTRA?

And it seems Sky are doing the same with "Disney+ Cinema" - you have to upgrade to SkyQ or Sky Stream. And take a Sky Cinema subscription.
