Just discovered something annoying
I tried turning off autocorrect in Chrome (for a start) because it really is a drunken elf trying and failing to be helpful. I am tired of correcting autocorrect.
I checked Settings -> Languages on my tablet. The Spell Check section is GONE! Apparently I CAN'T turn it off! What the actual f***?! Okay, I'll try doing it from the tablet itself! No, it's still there! Okay, I'll try rebooting, maybe it hasn't got the memo! AAARRRGGHHH!!! STILL THERE!!! |
Re: Just discovered something annoying
I don't know what tablet you have, but on iPads autocorrection is under "Keyboard" in Settings

Re: Just discovered something annoying
General advice. Often somebody else is likely to have had a similar problem and posted somewhere how to fix it. Use search engines eg Chrome spell checker settings missing.

Ah. Found the problem: the tablet. Device Options was the answer. It doesn't appear in OpenOffice either. But OO still does what I want it to re ordinal numbers, i.e. taking 1st and making the 'st' a superscript.
Doesn't invalidate my autocorrect gripe, though. It really should be better IMO. |
