Millions of people will be able to set their own contactless card payment limits or even have no limit at all, a regulator has confirmed.
This is for physical cards, if you use your phone for contactless payments there is already no limit.

I am not a fan of NFC. My wallet is RFID blocking and I put my cards in RFID blocking slips and the card attached to my phone is a virtual disposable debit card with Skrill. Was not a fan when they increased the limit to £100 now unlimited no thank you

I'm happy with the limit at £100 but if it goes unlimited I think that's stupid and unsafe.

Never use my actual cards now. Just pay through contactless via Google pay on my phone or watch. Means not really needing a wallet with me.

The banks and card issuers will set their own limits instead, apparently.

I don't really want to get my phone out everytime I pay for something, I can't do that with my Tesco Credit Card Club Card anyway, I would still have to use the actual card to get the points.

Saying that I now pay for the majority of my Tesco shopping using cheap Everup gift cards which are stored in Google Wallet.

I use the clubcard app on my phone to scan and collect points or use my clubcard vouchers. Just makes sense using my phone for everything.

Is that a Tesco specific option ?
I've never seen an option on any I buy to store them in Google Wallet.

I think the idea is you'l be able to set your own.
I can do this now on a couple of my cards, but cant go over £100 atm.

That said, I mostly use the cards in my phone wallet now, which has no limit.

I'm not sure if its specific because I've only ever bought Tesco Gift Cards from Everup, I see the option when I click CLAIM YOUR GIFT CARD either from the email or directly in the app from the Wallet Tab it then opens up a browser tab with ADD TO GOOGLE WALLET as an option.
