How to stop Task Manager loading at start up?

Anyone? I've looked on the list of start up items and can't see it. :dozey:

Think its part of Windows isnt it? Stop windows loading, but that would make the pc tricky to use. Its invaluable to see whats going on and kill anything thats frozen.

not sure of the reason but try this

Search command till you see command prompt right click and run as administrator
run this command powercfg /h off and hit enter. This will make the machine shut down fully instead of using what is called fast start up which just puts the machine into a hybrid hibernation state. See if that works

This has only just started happening recently, couldn't be caused by a recent update perhaps? :erm:

it is not normal and it should not be opening. Did you try what I said? it could be an update caused it. I doubt it is anything more sinister than an annoyance

open an elevated command prompt like I said before and run the below command

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

if it finds any issues run the below command to perform repairs

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

This will take a while. When finished reboot then in an elevated command prompt run the below command

sfc /scannow

Allow to finish see if it repairs anything
