Jailed asylum seeker accidentally released

Can't make this up.

Quote:

A manhunt has been launched for an asylum seeker who was jailed for 12 months earlier this year after he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman in Epping.

Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, 41, had been staying at The Bell Hotel in the Essex town, with the incident fuelling weeks of protests at the site.

The Ethiopian national was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity and harassment without violence earlier this month.

Sky News understands Hadush Kebatu was being released from prison as he was due to be immediately deported.

He was released on the expectation that he would be picked up by immigration enforcement, but it is currently unclear what happened next.

Yes it is, unfortunately.

Of course we should wonder if this sort of thing has happened before but not received media attention. If ‘yes’ then that would suggest general incompetency by the prison service and ultimately the Justice Secretary.

If ‘no’ then fine it's a one-off, unfortunate to have happen in a case with so much public interest.

What do you think? Interestingly do you think anyone will lose their job (without compensation) over this? Thought not!

They’ll vcatch him, deport him and it’ll be ta-ta for now.

What’s worse, though, is that he got a 12 month sentence for attacking a young girl and the Lucy Connolly got 31 months for a mere tweet. This country is a bigger shit hole than one could have imagined 18 months ago.

He’ll be back over before Christmas.

It appears he was asking for directions to where he had to go to get deported.

This is ridiculous: https://x.com/SkyNews/status/1982081560384839785

Almost something out of Brass Eye.

The guy was let out and kept going back to the prison guards to say he was being deported and asking where he had to go. They kept telling him to just go, and they kept directing him to the train station.

They can't do him for trying to escape, if he tried to get back in 5 times. He's probably got a claim for welfare neglect.
