Quelle horreur, these shops were just fronts for crime!

Am I the only person in the country who isn’t remotely surprised that barber shops, vape shops and corner shops which never seem to have any customers in them are actually money laundering fronts for crime gangs? I thought literally everyone knew this. But the polis and the BBC are going big on it tonight as if it’s some massive revelation.

My town has loads of em. Hardly ever anyone in them. Obviously fronts. Easy money laundering. We have at least 6 in the town centre alone seriously

It used to be saunas (knocking shops) and tanning salons - plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose…

A local vap shop was raided and is now closed. It was next door to a shop I visit 2/3 times a week and I rarely saw any customers. A elderly* friend who lives opposite said that it was only busy late at night and, because the men who went there always wore hoodies, he thought they were definitely wrong 'uns up to something dodgy.

* .... and yes, members may regard me as an elderly old lady as well grrrrrrrr, but he's a 92 old curmudgeon and I'm a lot younger!!!! :D

Our local high street has many barbers, vape shops, tiny corner shops and mobile phone repair shops, none of which ever have anyone in them. The barbers only ever seem to advertise ‘fade cut’ in the window, which I assume means they have no training of any kind and only know how to do clippers. It’s very obvious at least some of these shops are not financially viable.

Where's the deterrent? The risk reward factor plays heavily in favour of reward.

Unsurprisingly I haven’t been in a barber’s since 1995 so this has never crossed my mind….

Our local Main Street in Rutherglen has a couple of newsagents that sell tapes and there are about 4 Tirkish barbers all fairly close together only one of them ever seems to have customers.

They do all their business online and the lines are white. ;)

I think a high number of them are people traffickers too which is the scary part. How many many day slaves are in our town and we are clueless about it . Horrifying if you ask me

Talking of white lines watching 24 hours in police custody was amusing. Apparently a lot of the white lines are contaminated with crystal meth  there doesn't seem to be a pure cocaine supply out there cut up or not. Have the police got a grip on drug trafficking?

TBH I would have thought that over complicated the process although if meth is cheaper then I guess its a hit added so the coke can be cut even thinner.

It seems that fentanyl is also cut into both Meth and Coke and to high a dose of that and it is game over
