I voted YES because people are just PEOPLE and often make mistakes... I think INSTANT REPLY is helpful in any sport!

Re: Should there be "instant replay" in any sport?
If you are talking about American sports no. That would be like cheating. Oh wait I messed that up let me take it again.
It's up to referees to make the right calls. That why most sports have them in some format. UK football has VAR now to double check for errors or things the referees may miss call but themselves to make mistakes. It's human nature to make mistakes. |
Yes sadly more times than not...

Re: Should there be "instant replay" in any sport?
We have had a video ref in rugby league for years. Sometimes they get it right sometimes they mess it up

Re: Should there be "instant replay" in any sport?
There was a classic case in rugby union , Wales v Australia if I remember correctly. Clive Thomas gave a try . The rule was then if you can't see it you can't give it.video showed that the ball wasn't put down . He clearly couldn't have seen it as it didn't happen.

Re: Should there be "instant replay" in any sport?
Sometimes it can be a good idea but it is overused. Sure the ref can make a mistake but it's only a game, it's not life and death.
It does make sense for off ball sneakiness or where the ref maybe unsighted. But generally the ref's decisions should stand without lots of faffing around. |

Yes is the answer.

Re: Should there be "instant replay" in any sport?
Depends on the sport, works in Tennis/Cricket, where's there's a natural break after every ball/ point. But more free flowing games like football and rugby it just disrupts and the delays become daft. Surprised they don't sneak some adverts in whilst it's happening, give it time....

Ya thats what I would also ONLY IN CERTAIN ONES is it really needed... (But seeing Mistakes can happen IN ANY SPORT,maybe its needed in all?)
