Double Glazing Advice
If you EVER and I mean ever get new windows fitted DON'T relax and sit down reading the newspaper be ALERT.
I noticed certain signs (Like something ain't right) Like A violins type story from the window fitter. Loud music. Forms of control (Distractions) Go round checking the windows. Check they used the silicone glue. Do NOT take their word for anything. And Google the company in advance (We found so many bad reviews) We had a problem with this company I don't think they liked our threats (Matt Alright of the BBC lol) In the end someone came round and they fixed everything. |
Re: Double Glazing Advice
Our council employs the lowest bidder each time they have properties requiring new glazing. Not one has still been in existence a few months after the installations.
Luckily, they have to be part of a trade guarantee scheme, so repairs get done. EVENTUALLY. |
Thats very true..... Ya gotta know what you want these days or very likely you will be taken for a ride.......
Welcome to the site beazy :) |

And don't choose coloured frames unless they can guarantee installation times. We have had neighbours delayed for many months because they wanted dark frames. OK if you are replacing but delaying a new build/extension could be really annoying.

Re: Double Glazing Advice
A friend of mine worked in a factory that made the frames to measure for a few installation companies. The cost of plastic went up so quickly that they couldn't cope with the contracts that they had, so the company collapsed.
