Unable to send emails on NTL accounts
 

Hi,
About a week ago all of our NTL email accounts stopped sending emails.
We can receive emails but are unable to send any.
We use Mac computers and the connection Doctor within Mac mail shows that we cannot access the SMTP servers.
Incoming email is not a problem, but outgoing fails every time. I have read that it could be a spamhaus problem. Any ideas?

I don't think this would be a Spamhaus problem. In my experience, if Spamhaus block you, you can send emails but then they get returned to you.

What error messages ? You need to tell us.
No one can help if you dont provide information on what's actually happening.

So what does happen?

What email program do you use or do you use webmail? (If you do use a program, trying webmail would be a good test and may allow you to work around the problem)

I can not get into webmail. it just asks for a password which I have got

Just tried it without any problems to my Hotmail account.
Is it a Captcha problem? Eg Which squares have traffic lights in them.

if you're not logged in

still works, redirects to
https://mail.virginmedia.com/appsuite/
and then on to
https://oauth.virginmedia.com/as/aut...b_email+openid

which has the new o2/virgin media branded log in page

When I try login to web mail It keeps asking me for a virgin media account all my email addresses are ntlworld addresses.
How can I create a Virgin Media account?

Same thing. I still have an ntlworld account from 20 years ago. It is that account that I used in my earlier test and is the one that receives emails from VM(eg bill is ready).
Some time ago, I switched away all non-VM email activity to a free Hotmail account.

i guess you'll have to contact their support, i can log into my virgin media account with ntlworld adresses
