End of Contract- what deals are being offered?

My 18 month contract is coming to an end. Was wondering what deals people have secured to renew.

I am on an old bundle (Ultimate Volt i think)
3 V6 boxes
600 MB BB
talk more anytime
Netflix standard
Maxit TV
Sky Sports HD
Sky Entertainment & Cinema UHD
Kids Pack
TNT Sports
(seperate O2 mobile)

Paying £75pm with I appreciate discounts.
Due to go to £141pm

Rang VM- first person initially offered £104.75 for the virtually the same but of course without TNT Sports. I am not paying an extra £18 pm for TNT. Got them down to £95.75.

I said i could not afford that and wanted to give my notice to leave. Goy put through to Cancellation team. Best offer was £81.75 pm (again without TNT)
This came with 1GB BB (though i really dont need that speed but lower speed incresed price.

Is this as good as i can hope for? I have said i will think about it. It is a modest increase but I am losing a service (TNT)

I see new customers can get the new MegaVolt Bundle for £60 pm for the VM services
500GB BB
TV maxit
Sky sports + Cinema HD
Netflix standard
anytime chatter

Again TNT £18 extra.

That seems similar to my current service but i do have 3 boxes.

What deals have others got and is it realistic to hope to get the £81.75 offer reduced to nearer £70??

I have looked at Sky and it would more expensive for same kind of package.

thanks in advance. I would appreciate peoples thoughts.

In my experience the best deal you get is once you are on the 30 days notice period

You also need to bare in mind Aprils forced price increase which will take the £81 over £90

Dunno what you expect for three boxes to be fair. Good luck

Did you get the offer in writing? Last time I did what you’ve done and phoned back the day after, they refused to honour the price that cancellations had offered and supposedly entered onto the system.

I had the same issue back in the summer. Retentions offered me a decent price for two V6s which I accepted but after two weeks of no communication from them I rang up and they claimed they had no record of the deal, the best they could do was £50/m more. I cancelled and signed up for Sky Stream and Broadband.

I suddenly lost access to my email last week, something that has never happened before. I was directed to a page to renew my contract. It offered £10 pm off what I am currently paying for 18 months.

I called and was told that was the best they could do.

I have no idea what an O2 tracker is? ???

First line retentions hands are tied massively compared to the retentions that call you after you put your 30 says notice in. This is why I hate this company and pray for FTTP by the time my latest contract ends

I would bet that Best Offer can be beaten

According to the Virgin Media community forum, 02 FULL Tracker is just an O2 sim. If you already have an O2 sim you can just deselect it. Don’t know what that will do to the price.

I gave my 30 days notice a couple of weeks ago and no sign of a call.

The last 3 times they have called me the very next day

But this most recent time the number was flagged as potential spam. I took the call and made sure they had full information (they had my full name they had my bill details and package details) before I spoke to them and raised the fact it was flagged. The guy did say he would raise it. So there is a chance you have had the call and ignored it

I've not even had spam calls over the last couple of weeks. I've never usually had an issue - as you say within a day or two max and it's the rare occasions I'd pick up from a number I don't recognise.

Retentions don't seem overly fussed currently, if you're thinking of dropping services they used to bend over backwards to offer you a deal.

My daughter had a VM SIM, but it was not tied to our BB and TV package. She recently had to migrate to O2, so I'll give them a call to find out what's up.

Re: End of Contract- what deals are being offered?

I gave it 5 days before I rang WM back.

They could not better the last offer that had been recorded on their system.

So renewed
Volt Gig1 BB- getting new Hub
3 V boxes
Mega TV
Netflix standard
Sky sports + Cinema HD
Anytime chatter

£81 pm

This is more or less in line with the New Mega Volt bundle that is £60pm for new customers except I keep my existing equipment of 3 boxes and faster BB

Its decent but I am still paying more and no longer have TNT sports.

Re: End of Contract- what deals are being offered?

I'm on ultimate oomph currently for less than £30 a month, ends in January. I received an email offering me to recontract for £35 a month. I took it. My street was cabled by youfibre this year so I don't know if that has any bearing on it.
Contract mentions 360 which I don't have and Netflix appears to be omitted but I'm still happy and don't have to do the back and forth.
Contract was meant to update on 17th October but my old contract and package is still showing on my virgin media. I'll give it a few days.
