Virgin Media online Contract Upgrading

I noticed this last week the site would let me renew my package online for 18 months on the same price that I was presently on.

I just had my new contract negotiation and got 500meg for £26 and they offered me Gug1 for £32 I stuck with 500meg.

I looked today and the upgrade part said add WiFi Max with a free Pod. Upon looking this is free for all Volt customers and high tier also so I added that and then looked and the 500meg had a drop down menu and offered me Gig1 for an extra £3.55. Of course I added that so Gig1 £29.55 till April then likely £34 for the next year. Absolute steal

Note for Admin. Reason I added this to the News instead of Internet sub forum is it offered me cheap TV too and I assume it also allows upgrading of all packages

You omitted the effect of RPI + 3.9% which will be applied in April based on the full price of your bundle.

Read my post again

Also I thought it has changed to discounted price as per info I was given when I mentioned it on full price before

This is the relevant part of the terms

Quote:

The amount the monthly subscription charges will increase by will be the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation plus an additional 3.9%. This increase will apply to the monthly subscription price you’re paying at that time and to the monthly price payable after the expiry of any applicable offer or discount

My understanding is that ‘the monthly subscription price’ is the full non-discounted price of your bundle.

yeah I quoted directly from the terms assigned to my contract. It reads the increase is on "The Price You Are Paying At The Time" and "To The Monthly Price After The Expiry Of Any Applicable Offer Or Discount"

Admittingly I guess the wording is not 100% clear

Examples for contracts taken in August 2024: If the RPI announced in February 2024 was 5%, in April 2024 your offer price would go up by 8.9% to £43.56 a month. That’s £40 x 1.089 = £43.56. Your standard monthly price from month 19 would also increase (£50 x 1.089 = £54.45), although you wouldn’t pay this until February 2025 – 18 months from the date you entered your contract.
This part makes it appear to be an increase on the offer price and then an different increase on the none offer price from month 19

and this bit appears to make it perfectly clear

What if I have a discount?
If you have a discount on your package, we’ll take it into account and the annual price adjustment will be applied to the eligible discounted price. Unless we’ve told you otherwise, the annual price adjustment will apply to the monthly subscription price you’re paying at the time and to the monthly subscription price payable after your discount expires. Please see the above example of how your prices could change.
