Pros and cons of Virgin TV 360

Hi all,

I'd love to hear some of the feedback on people with virgin tv 360 currently. at the moment i have three V6 boxes. My mum has one in the sitting room, we have one in the spare bedroom and i have one in my bedroom.

What are the pros and cons of virgin tv 360 currently? I'm hearing the software has improved and a few of the missing things from v6s have been updated on the 360 software. I'm not overly sure about all this?

So any pros and cons from users will be appreciated!

They can't really add the TiVo features to 360 without paying the licence fees, so don't expect any major changes.

Had the 360 here for quite a while now.

On the V6 I used to use the auto-record wishlists and cross-channel series links alot.

To be honest - off hand I can't think of a real pro for the 360 user.

Ok because of a remodel my splitter is no longer a solution. What in simple terms please, is the process of changing to a 360( keep getting confused over what is what) guessing it starts on TV via screen , does that start the process of getting a mini box ? And at what cost (£)

You need to contact VM to get your V6 boxes converted to 360. If you have one or two V6s, you will be sent new remote controls, and on the day they arrive a conversion app will appear on the V6 Home screen. You run the app and that does the conversion. If you have three V6s, you will need a technician visit to do the conversion.

If you need Miniboxes, either to replace old TiVos, or because you want more boxes than you currently have, these will also be sent to you.

You can't have more than three 360s, so if you already have more than three boxes, you aren't eligible for 360 conversion unless you are willing to lose some boxes.

You need a Hub3 or later for 360, so you may also need a new hub.

Nobody here can advise on the cost as it depends on your existing package.

Edit: I've just seen in another thread that you've got a technician booked. If you need a box replacement, ask nicely and they may do the conversion for you at no cost.

*Beware* - this is the Cybermen's 'modus operandi' . Steer clear of the 360 is all I'm saying...

Thank you , however the technician sort it all out , even talked to the electrician about my requirements. Now up and running using a new V6 box. Not a clue what they did but £50 well spent.
