Active directory is main difference, at home, unless you have a really big home network, there's no reason for Pro.

One thing I will say Key sites tend to sell Pro keys cheap. I paid less than £3 for a Pro key that activated just fine with M$

Pro has extra services, for example joining to a Domain.
