Medicinal side effects

I am desperately hoping somebody out there who can help me. Over the last few weeks I have developed an extreme jerking, shaking trembling sensation in my hands, legs etc which mainly affects the left side. It is so pronounced I am finding it hard do even the simplest task. I am listing my prescription hoping someone can give me an idea if they are to blame.

Asprin 75mg 1 daily
Simvastatin 20mg 1 at night
Zapain 30mg/500mg 1 1 or 2 4 times a day
Amitriptyline 10mg 2 per night
Fostair 100micrograms/dose 2puffs daily
Salamol 100micrograms/dose inhailer 1-2 doses pm up to 4 times daily
Salbutamol 5mg vials 1 dose 3-4 times day
Sertraline 50 tabs 1 daily (I,ve stopped takking these)

You probably need to ask a pharmacist or Dr, rather than the unqualified on here.

Pharmacists are good at spotting side effects and especially the effects of mixing drugs that shouldn’t be mixed. IIRC Boots pharmacists as a matter of policy run a cross-check, if they know what else your GP has you on. It’s definitely worth going to see your local one if you think the root of this is in your medication. But as there are likely to be pathological causes of those symptoms as well, you should make an appointment with your GP.

when did you stop the Sertraline ? if it is recent and you went cold turkey maybe?
As said the pharmacist is the way to go
Hope you can get it sorted

Definitely seek medical advice before changing anything based on what people say on the internet, however I googled side effects of everything on your list and see this.

The main side effects of beta-2 agonists like salbutamol include:
trembling, particularly in the hands.
nervous tension.
headaches.
suddenly noticeable heartbeats (palpitations)
muscle cramps.

Consisdering SnoppZ's post ........

You are also taking two lots of sabutamol as your inhaler as Salamol is a brand name for salbutamol. Worth doing a quick check with either your doctor or your pharmasist.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I have an appointment with a clinician on Wed, I am going to seek a second opinion if I don't receive a satisfactory response, It has been going on far too long making life miserable.

Fingers crossed Tinky, Getting a second opinion sounds a good idea and I hope your appointment on Wednesday helps.

If you have to you can always make a private appointment with a Consultant. A single paid for appointment would not tie you into having to pay for actual treatment as you can swap back to the NHS.

In my experience, following my local hospital saying there was nothing more they could do, I saw a Cosultant privately and he said I needed further investigations which were done on the NHS at my local hospital. This resulted in my being accepted on a drugs trial that saved my life.

Simvastatin 20mg 1 at night
I take both these at those doseages and have done so for many years with no Issues

Sertraline 50 tabs 1 daily (I,ve stopped takking these)
My niece is coming off these an is feeling it, this could be what you are getting?

But speak to you pharmacist, they will know any issues.

My mum was on 10 types a day in her dosette box, they adjusted the taking times as some could have a reaction, and one was not put in the DB as it caused issues with other pills.

Re: Medicinal side effects

The Yellow Card scheme is constantly throwing up bad pairings of medications, and those adverse effects can take a while to filter down to GPs and Pharmacists.
