Disable Paywalls

Easy way to stop paywalls fully is to disable Javascript on your browser

Chrome
search chrome://settings/content
Find Java script and disable

Chrome Android
Menu, Settings, Advanced- Site settings
Tap Java and switch it off

Edge
Open Settings and search Javascript and disable

Brave
Settings- search Java - Site and shield settings - Javascript - Don't Allow

I am sure all browsers will have this open but remember some other aspects of browsing will be broken with the setting off. However you could just have one browser for paywall sites. On PC you can also do this easily with F12 settings cog debugger and disable Javascript

Only really tested this on the Telegraph site as even with the 12ft ladder it does not show the whole page. With this method it did. Does not work with FT :(

Hope it helps someone

Will have to give this a try.

I get around a paywall on Autosport using Incongnito.

You can make site exceptions for ON and OFF.

Works with The Telegraph for OFF and ON for Neowin.

Jay. I have just used your tip on my Chromebook and then successfully been able to read the telegraph. Fingers crossed that it won't effect any other sites, or programs I use.

Thank you.
Jo :)

Surely this site could get into trouble detailing how to avoid paying for something?

Why? I'm pretty sure all of this is already available to find all over the internet.;)

Low hanging fruit! Don't put a target on your back if you can avoid it.

But why should we be trying to avoid payment anyway or promote the same?

Fine. You do it the correct way then. However thus far I've not seen anyone persecuted for doing this.

There are more reasons for disabling Java script which would have the same result.

Don't know why I write javascript all day if everyone disables it. So ungrateful ;)
