Allegations of sexual assault and cocaine use against a Conservative MP have been referred to MI6 amid concerns among party bosses of a “sting operation” by a hostile foreign state.

David Warburton, the MP for Somerset and Frome, has had the Tory whip suspended and is being investigated by Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievances Scheme (ICGS) after three women accused him of behaving inappropriately.

He was at the weekend admitted to a psychiatric hospital for “severe shock and stress”.

Two of the women, who spoke anonymously to The Sunday Times, allege that Mr Warburton groped them, while a third said he “pushed her towards his bedroom” and asked her to order cocaine on his behalf.

Conservative sources said the allegations may have been a “stitch up” by a foreign state because they were produced with photographic and video evidence.

But that claim was met with disdain by other MPs, including the chair of Parliament’s women and equalities committee, who warned against “trying to cast Mr Warburton as a victim”.

It's an ergonomically designed place holder for 'wet' paint brushes, it even has the lip around the base in which to catch those awkward runs that dribble paint when you have to slap the brush down quickly in order to answer the phone or door bell.

. . . and trust me, it probably works much better than balancing the brush on a radiator :erm:

I see cocaine evidence but it's 2022 there are huge numbers of people had a toot although could just be speed. See no evidence of sexual assault which is the one really needs something done about

Frankly the standard of MPs in the present government overall leaves so much to be desired that this case hasn't shocked me as much as it should.
