1gig power level check.

5 Attachment(s)
Good morning all,

Please could someone in the know have a look at my levels and let me know if everything is good or could be better etc.
It's the 1gig service on a hub 4 (modem mode) and has a 3db attenuator on.
I can peak at 115MBs and 5.3MBs over wi-fi 6 using a Nighthawk rax200 so I know my speeds are good but I'm just pedantic and am wondering if I would get any benefit (power livel wise) from switching the attenuator for slightly higher one.
I do know that the speeds won't get better on a hub 4 but I'm wondering if the 3.0 and 3.1 levels could be better in any way.

Thanks all,

Nathan:)

You are getting zero post-RS errors, so you can't do any better than that. Leave it as it is.

ps. Welcome to the forum!

The problem with that is that the Hub4 ALWAYS reports zero post-RS errors!

So when using the 1gb package and therefore docsis 3.1 do the power levels on 3.0 come into account at all? I have a couple more attenuators knocking around and I could try for 0 on the 3.1 plc power.

yes they do and all your stats, both upstream and downstream are well within spec and you won't gain anything by trying to manipulate them so don't

no they don't. The first one I had was throwing up errors all over the place and got so bad that I had over 1 millions post rs errors on each downstream channel.

Thanks very much for the reply mate and I'll leave it be, if there's nothing to be gained :)
